“Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine in Auriesville, New York (https://www.ourladyofmartyrsshrine.org/) seeks a Roman Catholic priest for the role of Chaplain of the Shrine. The Shrine is located on the historic site of the martyrdom of St. Isaac Jogues, St. Rene Goupil, and St. John LaLande, and the birthplace of St. Kateri Tekakwitha. The Shrine is operated by Friends of Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine, Inc., an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) in fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church within the Diocese of Albany. The Shrine is open from April through October, and the position of Chaplain at the Shrine is ideal for a retired priest who has a winter residence in a warmer climate or a priest with duties elsewhere during the academic year but summers available to serve at the Shrine. Competitive salary and lodging at the Shrine from April through October provided. Duties include celebrating Mass, hearing confessions and practicing the apostolate of hospitality to the pilgrims who visit the Shrine from across the country and world every year.
